About The Artwork
Portrait of Spanish Artist Duo - Carmen and Luisa with their familial and personal histories added alongside and amidst them through vignettes and signifying objects. They confront us on a concrete throne sitting on rabbit skin fur coats. Both grandparents look down from the top of the canvas coming from towns on opposite sides in the Spanish civil war, one joining the red cross one in the resistance army.
