ABOUT THE ARTWORK

It was too hot and rainy in Korea this summer. She drew it in tropical colors with a desire to go to Hawaii, a world-class resort where many of her favorite Hibiscus bloom. Retro, represented by pantalon nylon pants, was popular in the 1970s when the artist's mother was in full swing, and retro fashion was popular in the 1990s when the artist was in college (actually wearing 10cm heels when she graduated), so she thinks retro is coming back in 2022. She often expresses her self-esteem in painting by comparing it to high heels. Now that she grew old, she enjoys wearing flat shoes or sneakers, but in her 20's and 30's, she used to enjoy platform shoes of 10 cm high. She thinks that whether a painting is good or bad, famous or not, whether a painting is sold well or not, every artist should have self-esteem in his work, which is only one. She will continue to be an artist who tries more humbly. Please keep an eye on her. (Wooden frame)

I was born April 21, 1972 in Seoul, Korea, and grew up in Seoul, Korea till I went to Japan after marrying. I graduated from Dept. of Horticulture, College of Natural Sciences, Seoul Women’s University, studied Visual Design at Seoul National University of Science and Technology and Japan, graduated from Dept. of Painting, Seoul Digital University (BFA), and graduated from Dept. of Painting, College of Fine Arts, Hongik University (MFA). I held 24 private exhibitions starting from 2010, participated in more than 230 special exhibitions and group exhibitions and had multiple awards. Currently, I am working actively as director at the Exhibition Planning and Policy Department, Korean Association of Art and member and full-time artist in Korean Association of Christian Artists, Seongnam Association of Art, Writers Association of Bundang, Asia Association of Artists, Art Metro, and Line&Color. My work aims an artist's own story which is quite personal and descriptive. Small but touching experience felt in everyday life through 「The work looking into myself」. Childhood memories and inner story. This is not just an artist's own story but a self-portrait of everyone living today which is rapidly changing. Recently through ‘Urban Landscape Project’, I am not just representing loneliness and mind of people today by a foliage plant’s indoor purification and primarily function to watch leaves in indoor space of the dreary city, but working on focusing on how the space changes when the plants are laid in indoor and outer space.
