About The Artwork
Takehiko, a Buddhist monk, dances on his return home to his small village in the distance. There he will help celebrate "Setsubun", a Japanese festival that marks the beginning of Spring. This original artwork incorporates acrylic ink painting with hand painted papers that are either cut or folded to create the imagery. I custom cut and painted the mat for this piece.

Born on the West coast of the US and raised in upstate New York State I now live in the American Southwest in Tucson, AZ. Making art was my first love as a child, and art continues to impact my life every day. Although I grew up in a small town I had a lot of artistic influence from my family; my father loved art & played musical instruments, one of his brothers was a professional artist, my mother always encouraged making hand-made gifts and cards, and two of my five sisters are also artists.
