My siblings and I, myself in the middle. Beside me are 'Horsehead Mesa' right and 'Mountain Meadow' left of me. As you can see, we tower over the entrance way and door.
Here I am, in the center, the shortest of my two siblings. As you can see, someone (mover) bruised me up a bit (top right corner).
The Sphinx, monoliths, faces, myself (a painter), all superimposed into the rocks. Lots of hidden goodies, remember it's close to 8 feet tall and 4 feet wide!
Lots of hidden gems in this one, you'll be analyzing it for years to come.
A huge waterfall hangs in the distance, just another way to measure the vastness of the canyons before you.

About The Artwork

This painting, which I completed May 10, 1983 (My Birthday), is part of a three painting series. It is 4 feet wide by 8 feet tall and I did it on Masonite. Makes it quite brilliant, colorful and heavy, but most importantly, it makes it quite beautifully stunning. This name for this painting is "Centuries Sentries". Something teetering on the mundane, however, with a Vernon Finney twist of surrealism. There are a ton of hidden, figures, faces, historic artifacts paired with worldly charm and imaginative impression, ready to be explored. You'll be finding new features you never even believe could exist, for years to come. Its part of what I do! - Vernon It has two sister paintings, "Mountain Meadows" and "Horsehead Mesa". All over-sized pieces of art, all done in stunning color and intimately fine detail. I paint really lightly, putting down only as much paint as is needed to get my idea or dream on medium. The three were commissions, meant to be installed at the end of well lit hallways. Allowing for a quick escape from the confines of the walls and into the great outdoors. These three beauties are definitely breathtaking. The commissioner sold the house he had commissioned this for, in turn allowing me to keep the deposit as well as the paintings. Upon purchase, a new simple frame will be expertly constructed to fit the painting, before being placed in its padded shipping crate, given a final goodbye, and finally sent off to its new home. I'm asking $77k, gallery commission in tow. Buy all three over sized pieces of art and I'll knock off 5%!!! The other two siblings are $100k each, this one is set to $77,000, since it is damaged on the top right corner. However, as I say about these large pieces, I leave a bit of space to cut it down if needed. So, that can be done with this one, for, the main artwork is right below the bruise.

My last painting, thus far, was just recently completed in September 2021. As of May 2021, at 97 years of age, my desire to paint lives on, even though I have trouble seeing properly (Macular Degeneration) and my hands are a bit shaky from time to time (Essential Tremors). Nevertheless, I still managed to finish this latest painting, a landscape, with fields protruding from below a majestic looking column of colorful clouds glowing in the vibrancy of a fiery sunset. Seeing as I have trouble with my hand trembles, I have to complete my work by using the 'daubing' technique, however, not in a careless manner as the terminology may suggest. I plan to outlive my mother, whom lived to be 107 years of age. To do so, I must try to find forever homes for some of my larger and most coveted pieces of art. I've always said I want to donate all the art I have in my possession to an art museum that'll agree to display it from time to time, when I pass away. Yet, finances dictate I should try to use my artwork to better set myself up for the years ahead, if I do indeed plan to live in my own home for the next decade or so. Hence, putting some of my children (original works of art) up for adoption to a new loving home and future.
