ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Ceremonial regalia is ready to hang, on canvas and is an analogy for the different roles we must play at different points throughout life. The choice to use a sword-the warrior, the staff-the wise walker and the spear-the wholesome guardians, is a representation of offence in the sword, the staff projecting patience and experience, and the spear representing an ungrounding distance to be maintained in a defensive state. We must all act based on involuntary actions and reactions to our current environment. This work is a reminder of adapting overcoming and evolving.

I make art because beauty calls me to my higher being. I specialise in dexterous manipulation of the external world, through paint on canvas among other things. My work relies heavily on my constant pursuit of balance. In the pursuit of balance, I am often found analyzing the negative space of the work. To maintain harmony, I must periodically retreat from painting all together and constantly re-discover my painting in the name of balance. In finding balance, I try to seek joy and beauty. I want art to be fun and exciting, changing with us as we grow. My art is about you and your interpretation of the world. My art is fun and vibrant on the surface while carrying symbolic gestures buried in our collective human psyche.
