Art Description

Painting: Acrylic, Photo, Manipulated on Canvas.

I visited Pripyat (Chernobyl’s “ghost city”) and saw ruin turn into growth from the overwhelming force of nature. My Photographer colleague Keith Waterworth wrote "Trees sprout haphazardly in the middle of classrooms, moss carpets the stands of the football stadium, ivy creeps along the aisles of the supermarkets. Every object in the city appears to be overlaid with a greenish patina, nature stealthily reclaiming the place as its own.” This is an old childrens dormitory filled with ghosts of the past, abandoned to sleep on only disturbed by the wolves
