Cherry blossom The painting 'Together under the cherry blossom' is about Volunteering, Friendship, humans working together to build a better world. I have participate on a project called HistArt and the goal of it was to twin a citizen living in my town, with an artist. The citizen had to tell his story related to the town where we live, and the artist had to create an artwork related to that. My twin citizen was an old man who during his lifetime was involved as a volunteer in several local organizations to help others including childrens and youth. In the painting Together under the cherry blossom, I represented the volunteering by the human chain, the cherry blossoms represents the youth and the future. I choose as decor for these scene, the old house - symbol of my home-town and which is used today as a cultural place, the Saint-Laurence River and in the city of Montreal which can be seen far, in background. But this painting, beside the personal story that inspired it, represents unity, strength, mutual aid and the love for the others The painting Together under the cherry blossom has been made in acrylic on canvas.
