From the moment we acquire reason, we use dreams to elevate ourselves, to create new worlds, friends, adventures and they even act as a catalyst for great ideas that we carry with us until they become reality. Sometimes these dreams are abstract. Sometimes they are in black and white. Sometimes they are in color and very real. Conversely, they can include characters only known to us, which our imagination turns into reality during this dreamlike journey through undiscovered lands. Many times we remember them, often not. With age, we talk less of them; but they are always present. For some they are a link to our subconscious. For others, they represent innocence that remains latent or, perhaps, a creative tool that is evident and strengthens until it manifest an idea. Over time they recur and find their way into reality. That is the case of the artist Jose Antonio Torres. The Universe of the Seven Dreams, his art project, invites us to that space of juxtaposition of ideas with the imaginary world of the artist. Not only so we begin to understand his artistic style, we also embark on a journey of passions, adventures, dreams and sensations offered by each character, color, and the rhythm of their fusion. The Universe of the Seven Dreams shows us that even though many say that it can't be done, we do not measure up, or simply ignore us; the author reminds us that if we dream, and really do it with conviction, this imaginary oneiric world can become reality. That's what the artist Jose Antonio Torres shows in his work, his praxis, and especially in the creative force from which several characters arise, where new spaces emerge, where the flora is infinite and the destinations are ever closer. This project is the journey of an artist who managed to express his memories in a unique style and to realize each of his goals. The Universe of the Seven Dreams is a project where we will get to know his life and the profound spaces that inhabit his dreams. Maru Pelaye Art Curator
