About The Artwork
The American Southwest first found its way into my soul when I visited Death Valley many years ago on a road trip. The vastness of the night skies was unlike any I had seen growing up on the East coast. The sunset colors touched everything with fire, and this land becomes magical. Years later, as the Artist-in-Residence for Mojave National Preserve, I was provided the opportunity to express this magic that reveals itself to those who are willing to look a little deeper at the marvels of Nature.

Originally from the East Coast, I am an oil painter who now calls the American Southwest home. I've traveled in my motorhome and been inspired by all the places I've been, but most recently the desert calls to me. As Mojave National Preserve's resident artist, I was able to focus on the fleeting moments at sunrise and sunset where the land is transformed by fiery colors. I continue to find inspiration throughout Arizona, Nevada, and California, and feel most at home with the RV parked on little-traveled desert roads and brush in hand.
