Clothespin Painting

I am a painter who explores the human condition. My journey through motherhood and womanhood have opened up an interest in delving into the greater purposes of life. For me, paint becomes an investigative tool which can transform seemingly ordinary objects into allegories of memory, transition, impermanence and promise. I am fascinated by how something as concrete and tactile as oil paint can be used to refer to the intangible. I received a BFA from Rutgers University and an MFA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I have shown my work at spaces including the Jersey City Museum, Cuchifritos Gallery, Zimmerli Art Museum, and the School of the Art Institute in Chicago. I am a recipient of the international Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant as well as a fellowship from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I live and work at my studio in Springfield, MA.
