ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A large flock of yellow tailed black cockatoos visit my property regularly. They love the banksia trees and I can hear them breaking open the seeds and pulling bark off trunks. This painting is the banksia serrata (referred to as 'old man banksia' in Australia). It is one of the favourite foods of the cockatoos. This one was broken from the tree in one of the visits so I bought it inside to preserve in paint. I love the architectural structures and personality of these plants.
