Title: Color Splash Medium: Acrylic on Canvas Date: 5/15/2022 Color Splash is an oversized extension of my linear designs that features a canvas filled with fully saturated colors of multiple types on dark blue on white. This very large sized piece (4 feet wide) makes an immediate impression on any room it's part of. Do you feel like your room could use a solid kick in the backside in terms of color? Sick of looking like you bought everything from the 4 color palette of your local Ikea knock off? Color Splash is your answer! Haha. Over the top, but you get the idea. This painting's made to add a bit of color to a monotonous world. Color splash was fun to create and I'll probably make more like it soon but they won't be identical. I'm pretty proud of how it came out. A little more serious tone - this one's got some serious rises to it on the left-to-right view. Continously across the center there's a lifting feeling as the blocks were intentionally dropped to give a sense of things-are-improving. This should give the viewing party a feeling of confidence, a little lift to start the day, and some pep in their step. The colors are bright but not overwhelming -- I did not want this to become an obnoxiously bright piece that would offend the rest of the room, I wanted it to fit in but be its own self-- if that makes sense? I really hope you like it. And I hope write-ups like this are appreciated too so you know my design intents. This is part of my series of linear design pieces and each seeks to evoke a different reaction from the viewer while using similar elements with planned staging. For all of my design pieces I sign the back to avoid providing a fixed orientation.

Artist and Engineer In 2004, Michael graduated with degrees in computer science and mathematics and has held multiple positions in software and systems engineering and technical management. When he was in his 30s, just before COVID started, Michael had a few significant life events that changed his life, his priorities, and his future. He went through a divorce, found new romance, was sick and hospitalized for a few weeks twice. During the course of these events, Michael was able to find his footing and rediscover old interests, hobbies, and passions. Namely, it was time for him to get back into art and music. Michael was enrolled in college again but this time for Fine Arts, Visual Arts (and will be completing his degree in the Spring of 2024). The rest is still being written... :) Favorites: Charcoal, ink, acrylics
