The Colour Fields Series engages with the idea of beauty by focusing on colour theories and movement. Colours are set in contrast to each other through a divide in the canvas, exactly one-third and two-thirds. This constraint in the composition combined with loose, distinct brushstrokes that resonate strongly with the impressionist movement allows the viewers to relate directly with the essence of how colour can convey beauty. Multiple layers of polyurethane create a smooth surface over the textured brushwork of the acrylic paint, allowing the viewers to peer inside the painting’s depths and alluding to the canvas’s past history as either a blank canvas or a former painting. These layers of polyurethane seal the canvas to ensure a unique and long-lasting work of art.

After finishing my Masters in Art History from the Courtauld Institute of Art, I created the New Artist Fair and Lemon Art as platforms to help emerging and established artists exhibit in Central London. As Curator and Artist, I believe in creating art that appeals to viewers and to my own sensibilities. My art seeks to visualize the vast range of human emotions and focus on finding comfort in the abstract relationship between the sensual and the beautiful. In my first series, I manipulated images from magazines that exploited the sensual nature of women's bodies and combined them with acrylic paint and paper memorabilia from my daily life to visually express the confusion associated with finding status as a female in a gendered society. The abstract nature of these compositions seeks to connect female sensuality with the physicality of the materials used and allows viewers to interpret how women are perceived. My 2011 series are all about simplification and beauty. I created 'Vortex of Love' with beauty in mind. By limiting my materials and colour palette, I was able to delve deeper into what makes a beautiful aesthetic visual experience. Deep reds, vibrant pinks and lush oranges are mixed with glittering gold and shimmering bronze acrylic paints to initiate an intimate feeling of pleasure from the viewers. Layers of polyeurethane seal the surface of the swirling composition to ensure a lasting work of art. My new 2013 series based on the Four Seasons confronts the spectacle of colour. With colour come emotions and where better to express this than through the visual interpretation of the Four Seasons. Interested in the process of painting as well as the intuition of mark making, this series poignantly juxtaposes architecturally accurate London cityscapes with abstract mixed-media paintings in order to question how humans connect emotionally to their built environment. Completed as a two-part series, Four Seasons: London, consists of four cityscape paintings and their four abstract seasonal counterparts. Through painterly gestures and rich colouration, my abstract compositions of splattered, poured and brushed paint and embossed glitter try to imply an intuitive knowledge of composition and a familiarity with colour theory. The bold reds of my first series contrast with the subtle yellows and blue greens of my most recent series.
