ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My paintings are inspired from my travels in my country and other parts of the world .People and sights ,and colours and culture excite me and the only way to catch them on my canvas is by first capturing them on camera and then adding my colours through acrylics,oils,pastels or watercolours. While travelling in Kutch,a beautiful,colourful rustic province in India,i saw this man with a glint in his eye,and a knowing smile,his beautiful turban on his head blending in with his persona.And i knew i just had to paint him!

An avid interest in colours since childhood had me dabbling in all kinds of media to express myself. I took on art as a mainstream subject at high school level...learning different techniques including batik. I have had a solo exhibition for my batik works in New Delhi at the Triveni Kala in 1973. Have been a designer for Indian women's wear since 23 years. As a housewife,could not pursue formal,professional painting but have now returned to it and watercolours and pastels being my favourite medium I am now pursuing my passion.
