In the first years of my studying my paintings were influenced by surrealism and esoteric art. Later I looked for new ways and developed experimental structures in which I discovered varnish and sand as new materials for my work. The aim was not so much a fixed picture idea, but rather a color structure created by layering and painting over. The resulting experience in dealing with colors and driving on through over-painting were more important to me than the "finished" picture. Sometimes I worked on pictures for 2 years and always opened up new pictorial spaces. Difficult to understand for a layperson, since ultimately nothing can be seen. But for me, this process of “always moving on” was a tremendous experience. Here things became visible and associations free that I would never have thought of. At the end of the 1970s the "stripe pictures" developed. Here, individual lines form color stripes and these in turn form an overall structure whose color definition creates a "color tone". A structure that was also discovered and mapped in genetic research, which amazed me very much. An abstract that on the other hand resembles an organic natural element. The “stripe images” contain thoughts such as merging - connecting - filtering - aggregate states - light situations. The strip can be a chain or a wave. Many of these pictures have a suggestive - calming effect on the viewer and reach the deeper mental levels through a certain neutrality in the pictorial. The "Stripes" period, which lasted until around 1984, developed further into spatially related images in which the stripe structure can still be recognized, but objects are also incorporated. Trips to several countries became the reason to dedicate myself more intensively to landscape painting. The possibility of painting to combine realistic impression and emotional perception was my aim to create these pictures. The result was paintings that combine a peculiar mixture of typical landscapes and free painterly handwriting. Here you can read between the lines what painting still justifies. The works of the 90s differ essentially from the previous periods in terms of my color treatment. I treat the paint more densely and the spatula is used to create new structures. The pictures seem more material and yet partly remind of the impressionists.
