An original, and unique acrylic painting on fine quality box canvas, painted in July 2019. The cotton canvas is double primed, then the paint is built up in translucent layers to give the desired effect. I wanted to create an abstract picture that was primarily peaceful to look at, yet to have enough subtle variations in colour and depth to allow the eye and the mind to wander. There are actually 117 separate areas of subtly differing colours/effects, it took a long time to create. The finished painting has an isolation layer applied between it, and the final two layers of anti UV varnish. Unframed and ready to hang, in either portrait or landscape orientation. As such, i have carried out projects for The British Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art NYC, Glasgow Museums, The Conservation Centre, Salisbury and The National Palace Museum, Taiwan. I decided to re utilise my skills accumulated over several decades and apply them to canvas. My influences are many and varied from Pop Art to Surrealism, Abstract, Expressionism to Impressionism. I adore exploring and trying out new things with acrylic medium and find the process theraputic and very satisfying, I hope this is reflected in my work...
