In my painting I work with the abstraction of the cityscape, always with a reference to a photo I have shot on a given location. My approach is investigative and the process is part of the work. I am curious of where the painting is taken me, with the many layers of colours I apply repeatedly to the painting. In my works, the subtitle refers to my geographical starting point, typically a street in a big city, and the overall title Corrections is my conceptual approach to the painting. I correct until the colors, the surfaces and shapes have reached a point where it is not possible for me to correct anymore. Thus a new self-expression has emerged in the painting. A space between two surfaces that gives a new vibrant dimension to the work.

Live and works in Copenhagen. Born 1976 In my work color and space has the main focus. My approach to painting has a mathematical likeness. For me painting is like solving a problem. I have been working with space for years. During the last years my work has become more and more abstract. I have focused on the layers, which are the lines in the painting. And together with the colors created new spaces within the painting. The repetition and the forced slowness of the many layers of paint and the fact that I use oil, makes the process and the material a large part of the work. I work on several paintings at the same time and in different stage of the process. I study how the colors interact and how I can change perspective of space. This is a constant exploration of color and space.
