About The Artwork
In my work color and space has the main focus. My approach to painting has a mathematical likeness. For me painting is like solving a problem. I have been working with space for years. During the last years my work has become more and more abstract. I have focused on the layers, which are the lines in the painting. And together with the colors created new spaces within the painting. The repetition and the forced slowness of the many layers of paint and the fact that I use oil, makes the process and the material a large part of the work. I work on several paintings at the same time and in different stage of the process. I study how the colors interact and how I can change perspective of space. This is a constant exploration of color and space.
