Corredores espaciales Painting

In my artistic career I passed through different stages, starting from the plastic/pictorial discipline, initially producing self-taught and then undertaking university studies in fine arts. These formative years led me to think deeply about the practice and the traditional status of the artistic process (the role of the artist, the public and the conception of the work of art). In this way I could understand the process in its complexity, regardless of the academic institutional validation to sustain my work, at the same time that I began to question the material nature of the work as the only operative mean. From this reflection has arised the need to extend my action field to other means and records like the performance, the video art and the photo, valuing this way the relation between interdiscipline and the artistic collaboration. I think that the artistic process cannot be appart from the public and from the public scene, since it is the context, built collectively and in a relational way, where this is possible. In my work I try to reflect on the problems that arise in the contemporary world, including the social and spiritual crisis that exists in the different parts of the planet. Despite the extensive proliferation of images that are consumed instantaneously today by different advertising media and on the web, I believe that the view field has still a lot to say, contributing to awareness of people as a channel of expression and expansion to be recognized and taken into account. From my beginning I have taken a special attraction about the procedures of the surrealism as his aptitude to present allegoric and oneiric images condensed with multiple possible meanings. I think that a positive challenge for my current proposal is to put these images, that I have been before solved on painting or drawing, get to transcend the limits of the plane and even of the traditional spaces of circulation and dissemination to arrive to an experience closer to the public.
