I set out to explore the issues surrounding the Fulani herdsmen attacks on farming villages in Nigeria in 2016. These attacks goes back a long way since the nation's independence, as the migrating herdsmen who look for new grazing lands for their cattle during the harmattan season usually move southwards to greener pastures. The unrestrained public grazing of the cattle means that they also trudge through farmlands and cities. In my blog www.nsoforanthony.wordpress.com can be found articles on various aspects of the topic- A Thousand Cattle; Bloody Cattle, Bullshit System; Cattle Rampage, etc. Using the motif of the cow as a key subject, I realized that other cultures place religious, cultural and other relevance to the animal. Thus, the work gained an international familiarity. The problems of migration and the conflicts between the indigenes and the migrants expanded the importance of the series. In my work, I always try to convey a sense of motion, as I think that the ability to occupy and traverse space is an important part of being 'alive', of influencing beyond one's locale.
