Art Description

Painting: Acrylic on Canvas.

Fernando Jaramillo (b. 1966) is a Bogota based artist best known for his colorful lyrical abstraction organic paintings on canvas. These works explore the limits of the interaction between color rhythm speed dance emotions, imagination and mysticism, but are inspired by contemporary aesthetics.

Gold and multicolored figures framing a picture of Jesus Christ with open arms. My work explores the depths of life from its most basic manifestations. It is a journey through the microscopic worlds of primitive matter. I wanted to create contemporary sacred art. The work has been chosen to be featured in the "Inspired by Klimt" Collection on Saatchi Art's homepage by the chief curator Rebecca Wilson and the Saatchi Art curation team.
