Currency #209 "I`m Sorry, I`m Not From Here" Painting

This piece is part of my "Exchange Currency Series" that I created in 2024, inspired by the concept of the "face" on coins. In this particular artwork, I painted a profile portrait of an immigrant in Sweden, using intense contrasts of fluorescent red and navy blue, and framed it with a Swedish phrase that translates to: "I'm sorry, I'm not from here." Conceptually, this piece is a reflection of my own experiences, delving into the theme of foreignness and the feeling of 'not being from here.' It also resonates with the experiences of others who have faced the challenges of migration. These artworks are designed to be displayed both individually and in multiple compositions, allowing for installations tailored to the space with as many pieces as desired.
