Painting, Ceramic on Ceramic

Ships in a Crate
The series "Natural portraits" I created in the period 2014-2015 and it was an inspiring experience. As a basis, leading me all the time, I used the example of artists from the Renaissance to the construction of a scenic picture layer. Clay mixed with paper fibers serve me as a basis of the picturesque layer and adds strength of the ceramic plate. After drying the plate is baked to 1000 degrees Celsius. After baking I paint with crayons, intended for ceramics and build a picture similar to the painting with tempera paints, but with glazes and pigments resistant up to 1300 Celsius. In most cases it needs repeatedly firing and adjusting to obtain the desired scenic surfaces. So the ceramic plates are becoming resistant to moisture and atmospheric influences and can be assembled successfully in exterior and wet rooms straight onto the wall.
