About The Artwork
A big Star Wars fan since the age of 7, Tarek wanted to portray certain emblematic characters of this universe with his vision and his way of painting. This series was a great success from the presentation of the first canvas at the Philippe Gelot gallery. In 2014, he had the chance to meet Dave Prowse, the actor who played Darth Vader, at the Montreal Comiccon thanks to Haïfa Adam his artistic agent: Vincent Pompetti and him had offered their comic strip "Le Malouin" with a beautiful dedication. He was very pleasant and Tarek subsequently had a letter correspondence. He was one of his readers! This is one of the reasons that led him to create this Star Wars series in painting. Finally, he had even offered to help him promote his comic strip "The Gallic Wars" published in English by Black Panel Press, his Canadian publisher.

Tarek Ben yakhlef aka Tarek is a French multidisciplinary artist. He discovered very early the graffiti in eighties and became an active member of the Parisian scene. But quite fast the camera take place in his hands instead of spray can transforming him in the number one witness of French graffiti. At 19 years old only he is the author of a book on graffiti in France that still nowadays is considered as the reference. Through the years he developed his art on other media such as comics where he is successful, but spray can are never far away. And like this he can still continue to bring to life on the walls of cities his fantastic and colourful universe.
