My galaxies are a bound system of gesso, sand, water, acrylic paint, acrylic ink, and shellac ink.

This work is directly inspired by the possibilities of acrylic paint to create an abstract story to get lost in.

It is an experiment with different levels of fluidity and the interaction with water on a textured base to create layers of depth and meaning: on a base of acrylic gesso and sand, I pour water and layers over layers of paint to achieve the effects of an expanding, imaginary galaxy.

Finished with matt UV varnish and signed on the side.

This canvas is gallery wrapped and painted on all sides, and ready to be hung without a frame.
