About The Artwork
This painting is reinterpretation of my older work of 2009 Missed Deadline, a group of anxious women expressing lamenting gestures.In this new piece I address the fluid boarders between the figurative and the abstract. The female bodies are engulfed in orgy of color and abstract gesture what obscures the distinction between them and the ground and freely applied strokes. I want the viewer to find the female figures and their gestures gradually ,discover the sensations being evoked and meditate on possible meanings. This time I create a painting beyond the subject matter. I am influenced and informed by art of Willem de Kooning, Joan Mitchel and contemporary Cecily Brown

I was born in Poland. Upon my arrival to Guelph, Canada in 1996 I decided not to continue scientific career in Biological Sciences but to pursue art and painting. My work has been progressing from expressive realism to abstract interpretation. Throughout my career I has developed a passion for the depiction of bodies, landscapes and other natural forms such as coral reefs, flames and plants.My recent abstract work focuses on depicting the female form engulfed in an orgy of color and gesture.
