About The Artwork

Decomposition and energy I. 2014. Acrylic, ink, pencil on panel mounted on wood, 48 x 48 in. Inspired on my concerns about the condition of
our environment. These concerns are represented as drawings of the disintegration of organic forms and the visualization of destructive explosions created from acute changes in our physical world.

Dominican-American Visual Artist born in Dominican Republic. His work consists of large-scale paintings and works on paper. Integral to the imagery is a dialog about curved lines, organic forms and mechanical imagery often resolving in monochromatic explosions of conflict. Space and balance dictate the framework. Compositions are completed on canvas, eucaboard, hard plywood, paper or other media. The use of paint, pencil, ink, gesso or varnish enable a broad mark making vocabulary and allow for a range of unexpected outcomes. ▶ Before receiving his MFA in 2015 from The City University of New York, his works has been presented in over 25 exhibitions, both nationally and internationally including The City University of New York at Lehman College Art Gallery and Hall of Fame Art Gallery at Bronx Community College, Alexey von Schlepped Gallery of Art at University of Connecticut, Attleboro Arts Museum in Massachusetts, Warwick Museum and Tse Tse Gallery In Rhode Island, Clemente Soto Velez Cultural & Educational Center, and Rio II Gallery in New York City; Rutgers University at Center for Latino Arts and Culture, The Paterson Museum and Perth Amboy Gallery Center for the Arts in New Jersey; Galería Universal in Santiago de Cuba, Centro de Convenciones in Cancun, México, and Centro de la Cultura de Santiago in Dominican Republic, and others. ▶ Jimenez have been a visiting artist-talk motivator in academic institutions including, Instituto Tecnológico Mexico (La Reforma) in Santiago, Dominican Republic; Ken University in Union, New Jersey; The City University of New York at Bronx Community College in Bronx, New York City; Adelphi University in Long Island, New York and others.
