ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Being a recovering addict and alcoholic myself, I can remember some very vivid and often frightening hallucination I had withdrawing from alcohol. The crouching man is trying to hide from the hallucination of the clown that seems to be becoming to him. I am hoping people will see the fear in the crouching man. he is hiding missing all the colorful world around him. I have been working in oils. since 1992. It seems to be the medium that I get along with and it gets along with me.

I currently work in oils but have also worked in water colors and stained glass.I currently live in rural Michigan but spent the majority of my life living in Detroit. I have always been conscious of social conditions and the environment around me. I try to reflect my feelings about these issues in my paintings. I feel art, should among other things, stir ones conscious toward issues that impact their fellows.
