Art Description

Painting: Oil, Lights, LED, Metal, Paper on Paper.

There are feelings, which inspire me the most. For example, when we experience something inexplicable. My works in which I use light and shadows are helping me to analyse this experience. Ernst Jentsch, who first explored psychologically the term ‘uncanny’, has defined it, inter alia, as “doubts whether an apparently animate being is really alive; or conversely, whether a lifeless object might not be in fact animate”. That is why I decided to work with shadows, which are in the middle of animated and inanimate. I design lightning system in this way to achieve movement of shadows. Although this is not standard art medium, through its evolution, it gives me opportunity to build side specific exhibitions or smaller independent installations.

Painting reacts for movement and lights up
