About The Artwork

"Desperate" is a painting that was inspired by the pain inflected on the women in some societies of the World, how their rights are abused that includes violence or domestic violence among others by the men some of the women get married to. This therefore influenced me to make "Desperate" as a tribute to the social evil or situation in some societies on our planet how the female victims are desperate to run away from such problems and pain. "Desperate" is an original abstract oil painting on stretched cotton canvas, it's also in black and white to further express sadness of the female victims to bomestic violence.

I'm by names of Akram Muhammad, I was born and raised in Kampala the capital city of Uganda(east Africa) specifically I was raised in Ggaba which is a small town in Kampala by the shores of lake Victoria. Ggaba is a nice place on a generally low topography. Growing up I had a lot of love and interest in art, I was always found of drawing things on pieces of paper when I was younger so when I grew older I decided to improve on this and took more art classes at school. I'm currently living in entebbe, Uganda which is also close to the lake Victoria just like my childhood town and over here I get different inspirations (subject matters) for my paintings and art such as the lake and tree, the landscape. I'm inspired by ancient artists like Leonado Da Vinci with his famous Monalisa painting I also draw inspiration from my former art teacher. I usually draw inspiration from trees, animals.,landscape, people among others. I quite oftenly like abstract art however I'm better at fine art, I also usually use oil paint along with other mediums such as acrylics even graphite pencils and charcoal because they kinda like blend in better with my artwork and style. Feel free to checkout my work.
