DINÁMICA DE FLUIDOS - IV Painting

Con rotundidad cimentada sobre velos frágiles, la obra de Antonio Llanas llama desde el principio a la contradicción. Lo tangible, lo definido, lo matemático incluso (retículas que tratan de acotar la realidad a través de patrones concretos); lo corpóreo, en fin, se sustenta realmente sobre el ánima, que descubrimos en un segundo plano que se revela sutil, ligero, impreciso. Y, sin embargo, en virtud de esa contradicción que embarga la obra de Llanas, es ese plano difuso el que nos parece esencial e imprescindible. Vanitas vanitatis, o tempus fugit, son elementos recurrentes en la trayectoria de Antonio. Cada obra suya es un espejo que nos enfrenta a nuestra propia imagen y nos devuelve un retrato lúcido de nuestra naturaleza, de nuestra condición humana, donde lo aparente no es lo importante, donde lo primordial está siempre detrás y es mucho más tenue y mucho menos evidente. Ese mensaje lleva implícito el de la fugacidad del tiempo, que se ceba de modo inexorable sobre todo lo sólido, lo material, lo visible. Llanas es capaz, inexplicablemente, de conciliar esas contradicciones y ensamblarlas de una manera hermosa que desde el primer instante atrapa al espectador por la belleza plástica de cada cuadro. Y cada imagen es un interrogante, una sugerencia que espera respuesta sabiendo que no hay una única reacción; que una vez que el artista da a luz a una de sus obras ésta ya no le pertenece. Merece la pena acercarse a esta colección y descubrir nuestra propia lectura que será distinta de acuerdo con la perspectiva, la trayectoria, la historia de cada individuo. The tangible, the definite, the mathematical (grids which try to enclose reality through specific patterns); the corporeal, in sum, is sustained upon the anima, which we discover on a background that reveals itself as subtle, light, vague. And, however, because of the contradiction which embodies Llanas ́s work, it is that diffuse background indeed what we sense as essential and indispensable. Vanitas vanitatis, or tempus fugit, are recurring elements on Antonio ́s career. Each of his works is a mirror which confronts us with our own image and brings us back a lucid portrait of our nature, of our human condition, where the apparent is not the important, where the essential is always behind, much fainter and far less evident. Implicit in that message is that of how ephemeral time is, inexorably preying on all the sturdy, the material, the visible. Llanas has the inexplicable ability to reconcile those contradictions and assemble them in a beautiful way which from the first moment grabs the observer by means of the plastic beauty of each picture. Each image is a question, a suggestion waiting for an answer though we know that there is not just one response; that once the artist gives birth to his works they do not belong to him any more. It is worth visiting this exhibition and discovering our own interpretation, which will be different according to each one ́s perspective, path and history.
