I chose to depict my mother's thinking processes in the dripping portions of my painting as her memory is fading day by day. Although, her disease is progressing, sometimes I wonder if she is at ease or at peace more than the average person. People struggle over minute situations without realizing that time is of the essence. I want to express that even without certain circumstances that turn negative, there is plenty to observe, look ahead, and notice in our surroundings. Giving gratitude is one way to overlook the difficulties. The main message I wish to give the viewer is when looking at my painting after a difficult day, to have a release of tension and a peace of mind from what was disorganized to what can be harmony.
