About The Artwork

I have been thinking for a long time, who could the Devil's girlfriend be? I started making this part of the diptych over and over again but was not satisfied with the result. Once I woke up with the thought that only one character is suitable for this role - the goddess Kali! Within the framework of Hinduism, it is not evil; there are generally no unambiguously good or evil gods. Kali takes away everything and even life, but she also gives it - this is how the Devil's friend should be, and their union is really interesting! About diptych: Doll Devil is a diptych. The first part is called 'He', the second - 'She'. These works are devoted to the fragility of the human world. The illusion of stability and security of this world is so strong, and yet it is too easy to destroy it. in this diptych, I made a doll a symbol of a person. I have always been inspired by dolls. A doll is essentially a model of a person and using such a model one can show a lot about the problems of society and personality. The Devil, in this case, can be a metaphor for a tyrant, a distraught autocrat, so his cannibalism does not raise questions. But it can also be a metaphor for any disaster. *The painting is ready to hang

My name is Natalia Andrushaewa. I am an artist. I was lucky and realized in early childhood that drawing is the main way of expressing my thoughts, so I have been doing this for about my whole life. Experts define my style as dark surrealism, but I consider myself a symbolist. I draw inspiration from Death, lucid dreams, mythology and vintage photos.
