About The Artwork

The tale unfolds in the shadow of "mobbing," a covert form of abuse perpetuated by a group of individuals within a constrained social setting, such as the workplace. It's a pervasive affliction, often camouflaged by those inadvertently supporting it—a realization I, too, came to understand, acknowledging my complicity in the past. As the target of multiple mobbing groups, I tirelessly explored every avenue to halt the insidious practice. It dawned on me that the only viable escape was to sever ties and leave. Despite initial reservations, deeming departure a sign of surrender or failure, the act proved to be remarkably liberating. Leaving behind a social support group entrenched in my life for over two decades was, unexpectedly, a cause for celebration. The departure catalyzed a surge of energy, patience, and resilience, particularly in my role as a caregiver to my child. The shackles of negative thinking, which had held my mind captive for years, were finally shattered. Freedom became the anthem of this newfound chapter. Liberation from the toxicity of mobbing opened doors to personal growth and well-being. What seemed like an initial defeat revealed itself as a triumphant escape, marking the beginning of a journey unburdened by the weight of a toxic environment. An intriguing twist emerges from the shadows of mobbing—an acknowledgment that the leader's insecurities drive their actions. In their twisted pursuit of superiority, they perceive the target as possessing qualities that threaten their inadequacies. Thus, being the target of mobbing becomes an unexpected testament to possessing remarkable qualities.

Most of these artworks were created several years ago, creatively processing the early days of learning later in life; I was Autistic (among other brain differences), and the challenges I faced when I made adjustments in my relationships based on my neurobiological differences and diverse needs. The digital artworks were created for a podcast my friend and I had together, where we unpacked our experiences as neurodivergent humans. My approach involves asking probing questions specifically created to uncover complex traumas. I developed a method of self-inquiry and introspection designed to bring awareness to one's inner world. By delving into my subconscious and exploring the reasons behind my choices, beliefs, and emotional responses, I essentially acknowledge and understand myself at a deeper level. This self-awareness is crucial in personal growth, healing, and making positive changes. I work with paint, pencil, ink, spray paint, recycled substrate, fabric, clay, and vintage materials to assist the self-understanding, acknowledging and positive change process. My work involves asking, waiting, watching, quiet listening, inner knowing, storytelling, memories and subconscious answers.
