In Belfort, France in 1969, François-Edouard Finet was born into a family where music, literature, and painting played a daily role in his life. He was raised in an environment where the word creation had a profound meaning and carried a strong message respected by all.In 1988 he entered the E.S.A.G graphic art and interior design school (Atelier Met de Penninghen). In June 1994, after five years, he graduated the school first in his class, working on the creation of a chess centre in a pentagonal tower of Vauban (French military architect of the seventeenth century) as his final project. In January 1995, he decided to dedicate himself to painting, drawing and photography.Since 1995, FEF organizes one to three exhibitions a year in Paris, other cities in France and in foreign countries. He exhibits alone or with other artists in places he invests in, or in other places thanks to the generosity of art lovers and collectors without whom art would have neither place nor sense.FEF lives and works in Paris. In my painting, I try with strengh and humility to reveal the act of painting as a state of mind, a state of soul, a way to apprehend life with all its contradictions, oppositions. Each reality ( mountains, city, body ) exits, appears only in showing us the contrary, the opposites which compose it.When I paint the mountain, the city, I dont paint only its physicaly reality, pieces of stones, architecture, but especially its possibly surpassing toward its anti-thesis : going from the flesh to the spirit, to dark and the luminous, the solid and the air.Thats the reason why figuration and abstraction are able to be mixed in a same exhibition because they are the two different aspects of a same act, which is to paint for the artist and to interpret, to co-create for the spectator.Actually in a figurative painting, the represented object is only yhe startpoint to an interpretation, an always personnal vision charged with your own subjectivity.Speaking about drawings, (nature, nudes, portraits, architecture ), the principle is the same : my work is not based on revealing bodys, shapes, walls on their first and simple apparence, beautifull or ugly , but to show through a structure, a feeling, a state of mind, a psychological aspect, an atmosphere. The drawing line is always changing because my technique has to adapt itself to each spirit of each model, tree, city.Drawing is a language with its own vocabulary and structure.
