"Draw the Light 3.23.1" Painting

Instagram: park_yongho_art I’m a metal artist and painter, applying metal works to painting. Though I’m a Korea based artist, I’m very active internationally. For many years I’ve been working in Japan, France, and the U.S.A. with lots of galleries. I seek the harmony of two different categories, metal work and painting. And I try to make them in good balance and moderation. So my work is differentiated from normal painting in many ways. Every work includes metals (aluminum, steel, stainless steel, etc.), which are combined with various other materials (wood, plaster, etc.) It has distinctive matière and three-dimensional effects. I hope that the perspective on the world and the attitude of living life match the outcome of my work. After all, my work is a plane in which my thoughts and perspectives are coordinated. Thoughts are not directed at objects, so there are no words. I cannot leave it in writing because I'm afraid that only the empty shell remains like a dried ink mark. The act of creation is an effort to escape the vain shell. The outcome of the work is equivalent to the result of the thought. The existence of the world is beyond the scope of human language and cognition. The nature of the world depends not on human calculations and results, but on the smallest beings that make up the material world. The state of real existence is the result of the relationship between beings, a sequence of processes in which those results lead to another relationship and a series of statistical events. The nature we perceive and the landscape we reproduce are actual objects derived from interaction with the real world. In the representation, we recognize one aspect of the complex processes and results of the real world. Work process is to collect and visualize pieces of the invisible world. It is the procedure of summoning scientific thought that explores the nature of matter to the world in which human ideas and five senses are involved. Visible pieces are beings that exist everywhere in the material world without hierarchy. My work is a signifier for expanding the horizon of perception toward the reality of the world that cannot be reached in nature as a representation. I feel a sense of awe for beings who relate to everything without hierarchy everywhere. I refine my work, much like I refine my life with such reverence.
