Dreamland is a sub-series extended from the new Mandala Re-imagined series, incorporating the iconic circular motif and threading over an impressionist cityscape scene. The style consistently uses vivid colour schemes that are highly dream-like and illusive to stray from conventional approaches towards urban landscape. This engages with the common theme of positive yet unknown potentials found throughout the Mandala Re-imagined series, exploring ideas regarding undisclosed futures that are solely left to imagination. The circular emblem placed in the depth of the square frame heightens the focus as well as the significance of the piece, emphasised by the layering of threading that reflects a notion of unveiling. The collective works invite viewers to observe different attitudes of hope and positive outlooks through varied composition and colour schemes on small-scaled surfaces. Her work has been exhibited internationally and hangs in public and private collections in the USA, UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and Australia. She draws her inspiration from her travels, exploring the infinite expressiveness of her subjects through watercolours, acrylics and mixed media. Her delicately multilayered paintings explore the connections between landscape, memory and the subconscious through texture and the interplay of light and dark, creating an atmosphere that opens itself up to multiple meanings.
