About The Artwork

Sometimes you will succeed, sometimes you will fail. You will smile, and then you will cry. You will be happy, but also feel pain. Whatever you do, whatever happens, never stop dreaming! Bring your dreams to reality, and then, dream again. Close your eyes and let Morpheus take you to your soul; live your dreams, explore them and own them, because maybe… maybe that's where we will be when we die on Earth.

In painting I find my silence. We all need to silence our minds now and then, we need the quiet that allows us to really listen. To me, shapes and colors talk, they have music, they have smell and touch. I need to cancel the noise to really listen to nature, to people and to life. It is by quietly looking at people's small gestures, a face expression, or the fallen tree covered in fungus, or the infinite blue of a clear sky and through the process of replicating these images with the colors on a canvas that I can find silence... and listen. The quieter you become, the more you can hear. [Ram Dass] The first half of my life I searched for answers, and knowledge, and control. We want to know, we want science to explain us everything. I guess this is where my background in furnishing makes sense: it gave me the control over a small environment, in which I could create comfort and safety. Until one day, I came to realize that is the not knowing, the mysteries, and the acceptance that some things are out of our comprehension that makes us really humans, that drive us, that feeds our imagination and our will. I keep wondering what is death, and what is life. Why is life so determined? How did it all started? Why do we feel? Do plants feel? What about the stars? Do they feel or think? Above all, what is consciousness? Does the universe have one? Life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced. [Soren Kierkegaard] I paint, I find silence, and listen to the world. Listen to the feelings and emotions of humans, of animals, of any life around me.  I try to find the common thread that runs through all of it: colors that repeat themselves, shapes that multiply, curves that talk of pain or laughter, gestures that reminds us of our humanity, dreams that come to frighten or to save us. May my paintings bring silence into your life as well. May they allow you to stop and ponder, to feel deeper, to listen clearer, to see brighter. ... shh... quiet, let the painting talk now [Rebeca Fuchs].
