ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work was inspired by my time living on an island on the coast of Maine. The water and islands I could see shimmered in the light creating an always changing scene. Working in oil and cold wax applying the paint with squeegees and rollers allowed me to stay loose and let the painting develop on its own. I was after an ethereal impression.

She has been a full time painter for over 20 years. Travel has influenced her work allowing her to see the universal and unique aspects of a landscape simultaneously. Working with several different mediums, oil, pastel, wax, acrylic, she distills and extracts the essence of a subject, conveying a mood of serenity and calm.
