In “Duckie’s Fight”, Anna Meyster transforms a playful symbol of childhood—the rubber duck—into a profound narrative about innocence lost in the face of chaos. Vibrant, colorful ducks erupt from a massive explosion, their joyful forms suspended in a moment of pure, explosive energy. What was once a symbol of carefree childhood now seems caught in the turmoil of an unpredictable world, where innocence collides with the harshness of reality. The explosion, fierce and unrelenting, speaks to the fragility of innocence and the abrupt shifts we face as we grow older. These ducks, once objects of joy, now seem to be fighting for survival—caught between their past purpose and the destruction surrounding them. The tension between bright colors and the violence of the scene creates a visceral reaction, inviting the viewer to confront their own inner battles between hope and fear, joy and chaos. “Duckie’s Fight” is more than a whimsical scene—it’s an emotional reckoning. It invites us to reflect on how life’s most innocent moments can be swept away by forces beyond our control, yet the spirit of resilience remains in every brightly colored figure, continuing to fly through the storm.

She holds a Master of Arts Degree from King's College London and a degree from the Modern Art Research Institute of Ukraine. Her works capture the interplay of colors, shapes, and the dance of light and shadow, drawing viewers into captivating journeys filled with nostalgia, hope, and introspection. With each piece, Anna cultivates a dialogue between the art and the observer, inspiring contemplation, reminiscence, and dreams.
