Earthly Delights 2 - Oil on Canvas 20x24cm (8x10") unframed canvas. Ready to hang. Signed on the reverse. From a series of 7 intense paintings. These fiery pieces are inspired by magma flows and volcanic land formations. Out of the fire comes new forms and new life. They were partially inspired by a documentary about a man who gets lost on an island in Hawaii where there was an active volcano. The artist was really fascinated by the visual imagery of the molten lava flowing into the sea and creating new land. The combination of the fiery red and orange the cool blue grey smoke and the black rock that was being formed was really arresting. . This painting is made in layers each responding to the one beneath, working wet into wet the rich glazes give depth to the image. The colours blend beautifully together creating some unexpected delights in the brushwork. This painting will be shipped together with a certificate of Authenticity from the studio. It is signed on the reverse and can be hung immediately unframed. If you wish to frame the piece we recommend a simple tray frame.
