Inspired by the colours of our skin and our struggles to find balance between nurture and self destruction. I ask myself wether there must always be a cycle of tearing ourselves down and rebuilding for all of us or wether that is just me. 
The bird represents nurture while it's tail reminds me of a snake and the way it curves reminds me of a grimace. maybe it's smiling? Maybe it's about to eat it's own eggs? I started this painting anxiously and ended it calmly. This sort of balance seems to make me feel most alive.

With absurdist images and surrealist GIFs, the Berlin-based artist explores sexuality and female objectification using disembodied breasts. After working as a model in her youth, she decided to reclaim her identity, and found strength behind the lens. Since then, she’s crafted hyper-feminist imagery that challenges traditional notions of what it means to be a femme. Delphine questions the never-ending fetishization of the female body, taking ordinary images and giving them a kinky edge. Through her milk-covered roses (which are actually drenched in varnish) and her boob-filled dessert spreads, she reclaims femininity in her own pink-hued way." --------------- Annique Delphine is a multimedia artist and feminist. She has held workshops on overcoming body issues and the censorship of the feminine body in Los Angeles and Berlin. Often using her work as a way to overcome her own traumas, she believes in art as a way to promote personal and collective healing. Delphine’s work focuses on the politicization and censorship of the body, feminine symbolism, sexuality, our relationship with nature and our obsession with social media and self image.
