El Cabo Painting

This work was inspired by an important place in my life, called Cabo de La Vela, in La Guajira, Colombia. Something transforms in El Cabo, weather it is the journey to arrive there, the harsh desert landscape, the stories from the villagers, or the vast night sky. It is a magical place that truly transformed my life, and brought me to a very important decision. I tried to paint this magic, what I felt there starring into the night sky, far from everything I knew and understood. This is a place with where dreams come alive through patterns and art, and I hope to transfer this into my work. The painting is in black acrylic paint on canvas, detailed with fine pen line-work, with covered with a protective coating.
