Elusive landscapes V Painting

I am a Polish artist and art restorer who lives and works in Italy. (High School of Fine Arts in Kielce, MA Fine Arts at NC University in Toruń, Poland) During my studies I attended courses in contemporary drawing and painting and workshops in historical painting techniques. This brought me closer to painting even though at first I was doing only Old Masters paintings copies, mainly 17th century Dutch painters. With time I started my own artistic path by fielding the knowledge of oil panting technique, my favorite subject were cityscapes and portraits. Last year I have felt the need to change and experience the new paths in painting. I started to move away from figurative painting and found inspiration in nature. In my art I try to convey calm and timeless atmosphere of natural landscapes untouched by human activity. I try to get rid of the details and I seek the strength of expression in simplicity. I mostly pay attention to the colors and the texture of the surface so I started experimenting different mediums: acrylic, watercolor, inks and colors I prepare myself from mineral pigments. My work become more intuitive, I no longer use the references of the photos or sketches. I let myself be guided by intuition, memories and emotions, Often when I start a painting I don't know how it ends. In recent works I have mainly used watercolor and inks that allow more freedom and spontaneity at work. My paintings are in private collections in different countries.
