ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting was inspired by a wintery drive through the tree-lined lanes of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The tall cottonwoods stretched high overhead, creating an embroidered tapestry look with their criss-crossing branches. This painting captures the colorful yet still mood of the landscape. This painting has been framed in an Open Impressionist frame. These frames are one-of-a-kind, hand carved in the US and hand-gilded with 23kt gold leaf. The Open Impressionsist frame is a beautiful blend of classic American impressionist frames and contemporary "floater frames," just as my style is a unique blend of the classic and contemporary. The frame is designed to stand away from the edge of the canvas, leaving a 1/4" gap around the painting, which allows you to experience every brush stroke on the canvas.
