It was created in his polytonal style, for which he is known for (deconstruction - reconstruction), on parts of a time worn wooden board, signed and dated on the back and it comes with a certificate of authenticity. Violence is transformed into beauty. The tips of the edges appear like scars of the past, which are seamlessly integrated by Jacob into the narration. With the completion of the work, the past trauma is finally transformed into loving energy and the horrors of the past are released and no longer burden the soul. Jacob's polytonal paintings have a sculptural character. Multiple levels of information result from the inclusion of the broken edges of the wood in the overall composition. With appropriate illumination, a further level is added by the deliberately staged play of the resulting shadows. His works establish a link between the landscape’s reality and that imagined by its conceiver. These works focus on concrete questions that determine our existence.
