About The Artwork

Lush with green and atmospheric, this semi-abstract oil painting depicts the sun sinking, over this Yorkshire landscape. The warm glow as the sun dips, leaves the Moorlands in the foreground in the cool light of the approaching evening. Drystone walls line the horizon, and cross the layered green landscape of the fields. This artwork recreates an atmosphere of the green outdoors and crisp, clean air of the countryside. The sky is deeply coloured by the warm oranges of the setting sun. The rich texture of the oil paint is visible, due to the use of both palette knife and brushwork, used to create this piece, on stretched linen canvas. Painted with Michael Harding Professional Artists oil paint. It is signed and dated on the back and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity. This artwork is ready to hang. For shipping, this artwork will be carefully wrapped in tissue paper, foam board and bubble wrap, then placed in a sturdy cardboard box.

Lizzie Butler is an expressive, semi abstract artist, who works in a contemporary style in oil. Her strong spatial awareness and a passion for working en plein air, inform her practice and lead to paintings that recreate the intangible atmosphere found in landscapes and the peaceful silence of nature. Most of her paintings are begun outside and completed in her London studio. Although working primarily in oil, Lizzie also enjoys the physicality of exploring etching with zinc and steel plates, to create intaglio prints. Lizzie Butler's artwork has been exhibited at Leighton House Museum, Kensington, London, The Russell Gallery, London, and several other Galleries. Lizzie's paintings can be found in collections in America, New Zealand, the UK and across Europe, with several customers returning to buy further paintings and place commissions. March 2019 - Two pieces shortlisted for the Royal Academy of Arts summer exhibition.
