ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A tangled slightly disgusting looking mop was tucked away in the corner of the store cupboard; I was on the hunt for something or other. I can’t quite remember now what that was. I dragged the mop hesitantly from its resting place in slight fear of the inevitable spider. I loved its tangled mass of string. I took it to my studio not to use but to live with for a while. It soon became the focus of this painting.
