John Silver B.A. (Hons) Born 1959 in Macclesfield Cheshire. UK. I am a professional artist. I am extremely lucky to be known throughout the world for my art. I was awarded the "best artist award" in 2012 by the Guild of Erotic Artists. I was also awarded Best new artist by the Fine Art Trade Guild in 1998. My work is currently published by one of the World's largest publishing companies, based in Italy and California. I have been painting for over 50 years and I have no intention of "slowing down"! I have spent most of my life studying the techniques and knowledge of the Old Masters in great detail. I paint many artworks using these traditional methods in oils. I use the 500 year old techniques and materials of the Old Masters, such as Da Vinci, Rembrandt, Titian, Vermeer, Rubens, etc. I am currently in love with impressionism and abstract and am producing paintings based on these technique. I love the freedom of expression that these techniques give to me. Having spent most of my life painting realism using traditional techniques, this is like a breath of fresh air to me! My work is in private collections all over the world, including those of many celebrities and I have painted for British Royalty.
