ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The figure in art has always been an inspiration. This is one in a series of paintings which is isolating the body, giving it space to float. This could apply to the physical as well as the psychological. This is for me a large canvas, using oil paint. I like the effect of light and dark, so the use of the white sheet against the dark background is important.
